Lightnin' TOTAL TIME 42'22 Notes: Sonic Youth present to you a new LP/CD/CS on the infamous Geffen/DGC label for the year 2000 called "NYC Ghosts + Flowers". It is 8 songs and all of 42 minutes long. The music was produced by radical non-sleeper Jim O'Rourke and intermittently features his slicing powerbook software actions. The songs are based on visions of shared color and greyscale meditation. The cover art is a painting by the late, great seer William S. Burroughs entitled 'x-ray man' - there is also imagery by the late nyc poet/illustrator Joe Brainard, the late american poet mystic D.A. Levy (the subject of the song 'Small Flowers Crack Concrete'), Dan Graham, Lee Ranaldo and Kim Gordon (these last three still extant in human guise).
