Steve Shelley is booking the Sunday Night Series and Thurston Moore is booking the New Music Series. More information on the way. Smells Like Records is very proud to announce that we will be helping in the manufacturing and distribution of Thurston Moore’s label Ecstatic Peace. The first project which SLR will be involved in is a Loren Mazzacane Connors box set which will be a four CD collection of albums long out of print tentivaly titled The Dagget Years Volume 1. This set will be released in October in conjunction with Loren’ 50th birthday. Thurston is curating the New Music series at Tonic in NY and will be booking Loren to play most of the month with special guest artists which we will be keeping under wraps for a little longer.

Gordon and drummer Richard Edson, were formed in New York City in 1981. A product
of the No-Wave music scene of the late 1970s, the group had their roots in abrasive,
experimental music, with Moore and Ranaldo having previously worked with the
experimental composer Glenn Branca. The band were joined in 1985 by drummer Steve
Shelley, and have now recorded 14 albums together, as well as many side and solo
projects. Their work has been consistently challenging and innovative, and they
are widely regarded as one of the most intriguing and influential bands of their
time.
