Click here for news archive. New Recordings From Kim To Be Released Soon January 15, 2000 Recently there's been some published info on Kim Gordon's new recordings. On the January 2000 issue of 'The Wire' magazine there is an ad for Midheaven Mailorder. On small print it states the following: Coming soon: ...new cd's by Milk Cult and KIM GORDON & IKUE MORI We have no further info on the title of the album or release date yet. However, in October Steve said something about SYR5 being the material Kim's been lately working out. But Steve also said that she has enough material recorded to fill two albums already. So propably it would be a KIM GORDON / IKUE MORI album -- or better yet, maybe it is SYR5 we're talking about!

Sonic Youth, initially comprising of guitarist /
vocalists Thurston
Moore and Lee
Ranaldo, guitarist / bassist / vocalist Kim
Gordon and drummer Richard Edson, were formed in New York City in 1981. A product
of the No-Wave music scene of the late 1970s, the group had their roots in abrasive,
experimental music, with Moore and Ranaldo having previously worked with the
experimental composer Glenn Branca. The band were joined in 1985 by drummer Steve
Shelley, and have now recorded 14 albums together, as well as many side and solo
projects. Their work has been consistently challenging and innovative, and they
are widely regarded as one of the most intriguing and influential bands of their
time.
